About Mrs. Fitz
This is my 23nd year teaching and my 13th year teaching CLUE. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Master's Degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a Master's Degree in teaching English as a Second Language. I earned my National Board Certification in Literacy: Reading/Language Arts in 2006 and was re-certified in 2016. I am one of only 646 teachers in the state of Tennessee that have earned the certification.
I grew up in Germantown and graduated from Germantown High in 1988. I returned to my hometown after college and have lived here ever since. I am so overjoyed to have the opportunity to teach in my hometown. I feel very blessed to be here.
Besides teaching, I am also a full-time mom of three wonderful kids. Jacob is 20, Maddie is 17, and Abby is 14. They are my heart and soul and teaching is my passion. My daughters attend Houston High School and my son is a junior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville.
I am a sports fanatic, mainly focusing on college football, but I've been known to even watch golf if it is the only sport on TV . "WAR EAGLE!" is frequently yelled at my house, but since all of my money now goes to UT, I occasionally say GO VOLS. I love anything chocolate and perhaps wouldn't survive my busy schedule without coffee.
I look forward to meeting and working with each of you this school year!
